Marlon Byrd drove in three runs with two homers and Dillion Gee had his second longest outing of the season, leading the Mets to a 10-1 drubbing of the Nationals in Washington on Wednesday night.

Terry Collins is hoping Gee may have turned a corner in his last two starts, allowing a combined two runs over 14.1 innings with 19 strikeouts. He earned a win in both and lowered his ERA by more than a point, after beginning he year 2-6 with a 6.34 ERA.

For Byrd, the two dingers brings his season total to eight, with both coming off Nats’ starter Dan Haren.

Haren (4-7) allowed three homers on the night, part of his five run, four inning outing.

David Wright had the other, also his eighth, and drove in two as the Mets snapped a four-game skid.

Anthony Recker drove in three with a pair of hits, including a fifth inning bases-loaded singe that snapped an 0-21 career goose egg with runners in scoring position.

The series wraps up Thursday night with Shaun Marcum (0-6) getting the ball for New York, against Washington’s Gio Gonzalez (3-3).
